Hey, Guys. I'm having problems with the brakes on my 1993 Ranger (2wd, 3L, automatic, rear ABS). The brake line that goes from the ABS valve to the "T" fitting on the rear axle housing rusted out and developed a very small leak. I drove the truck home with no issues and barely any brake fluid loss. The brake pedal didn't even feel bad. Today I replaced the brake line. I tried bleeding the brakes and I am getting no fluid at all from the rear brakes. I've done a lot of brake repairs over the years and bled lots of brakes....never a problem before. The brake pedal is hard like there is nothing wrong. I think the ABS valve is the problem but I know nothing about it. Is there something on the ABS valve I need to reset or something? Ironically this is not the first time I've had to bled the brakes on this truck and I've never had a problem before. After forming the new line, I blew the line out with compressed air to make sure there was no junk in it. Please, somebody help me. Thanks.

I am not aware of anything on the hydraulic valve that needs to or can be reset. The valve has 2 solenoids in it. One to block the brake pressure to the rear brakes, the other bleeds off pressure into a reservoir. The brain box controlls the two solenoids to modulate the pressure to the rear brakes to prevent lockup. One of the solenoids might have stuck closed. I would either pull the valve and replace it or try to clean it. I don't have a cleaning procedure for it but I have seen some people have done it with success. You might be able to find the procedure with a web search.
