Alright I have a 1999 Ford Ranger, 3.0, 4x4, automatic. My problem is the seal that goes between the cv axle and the half shaft appears the be leaking. Ive tried to find schematics and walkthroughs but I must be missing everything.
Axle wise I do believe it is the D-35. It has the TTB suspension. If someone can direct me to a schematic, part number, or anything that would be appreciated. My only lead is the Timken part number 710428 from autozone. Not sure if thats what i need or not. Thanks in advance to any help. |

Looking for you....
Welcome to The Ranger Station! http://www.therangerstation.com/Maga...ub_bearing.htm http://www.therangerstation.com/tech...ubassembly.jpg TTB ended with the 97s. You have Torsion Bars, no springs.

Go to the parts store and ask for the passenger side outer axle seal. I forget the national number but they're around $15. Very easy to change as well.

x2, Brinker showed me how to do it! it is pretty simple, you will have to pull the hub, knuckle and CV out to replace it. When you put it back together, make sure you use a brand new spindle nut for the CV, you can not reuse those so grab that at the auto parts store as well. Don't forget to get an alignment afterwards too.

He's talking about the 2000+ "live axle" set up, same as a FWD CV joint.
Yours differs. Are we talking about the excluder seal? No need to get it aligned for that replacement unless you replace the OTR or LBJ or UCA.

You have the vaccuum hubs so you wont need new spindle nuts. Also you dont need an alignment after removing that. It's just bolt on parts that have nothing to do with your camber/caster.

Where the axle meets the differential? Sorry, I was looking at the hub end.
Gonna be either 710428 or 710429.
