Need to sand and paint my interior, any help?

I have an 86 B2 and right now I am running short on cash for the next couple months and need some affordable projects to do. Well all the plastic on the inside of my truck could use some sprucing up. My interior is dark blue right now and I will most likely keep it that way. I have never painted an interior before so I don't quite know the best paints to use. My biggest problem is in the rear of the truck where the previous owner has put stuff in the back and scratch the plastic up on the rear door and the side panels. Some of the scratches are in the plastic and has left a small cut so it will need to be sanded smooth. Any advice, tips and even pictures of yalls interior would be great! Thanks!

if its going to be used on the trail just line the interior with truck bed coating

I personally second this, as that's how I got mine setup. A tip for coating the plastic with it is to use a low grit like 80-120 to really scratch and then us a cheap spray paint plastic primer to coat over it, then so when you apply the bedliner it adheres 100% and will not peel off.

Well its probably not going to be a trail truck I am just looking to fix it back up. The panels are just faded and scratched and I want them back to brand new condition without replacing them all.

LOL! You guys are too much!

Getting a 'like new' interior will be very difficult with removing the complete dash and properly prepping all the pieces. Vinyl, plastic and metal all require a different method of refinishing.

Post up some pics and maybe someone will come up with an idea!

Bedliner works with all those materials ;) and a gallon would do all the interior plus some!

Not my style... I think it looks cheap. There are a few trucks around here that have had the entire body bedlined... makes me sick. I got an '82 Bronco a couple years ago that had a bedlined body, would have been a great donor for body parts if someone hadn't sprayed that shit all over it. Instead I enjoyed watching the jaws of death take it.

I agree on interiors.

I do want to get colored bedliner and put a tan two tone on my truck when I paint it from the bottom bodyline down. MT's+gravel=pummeled paint otherwise.
