More progress from today, I now have the tube radius welded on the bottoms, I have cut my receiver tube hole, and welded stiffeners inside where i'm going to mount my 3/4'' lugs. I'm not quite sure if i'm going to leave the receiver tube where it is, or push it further back, it does stick out quite a bit there, but I don't have alot a room on the backside of the bumper between the truck to put the pin in my receiver tube (well that's a lie, i haven't really looked at it yet. Only had a propane torch to cut with lol

New lug pattern:

I did alot of this today :(

Haven't worried about it as of yet, Im going to push the reciever tube flat to the bumper, and have it stick out only 1'', I'm probably going to use heavy angle iron, 1/4'' and wrap around the stupid frame horns and extend out the frame with a plate on each side, OR i might use the existing bumper mounting holes but i'll have to do so fiddle ****ing with my bumper as the 5 degree angle i cut directly in the centre throws it completely out of wack. See my whole intention was to have the bumper sitting at the stock height, so with very minimal gaps outwards and downwards off my truck etc, I want to keep everything tight. I'm picky.

Yeah I was going to have a front receiver, but decided to go another route with the future winch. I have 1/4" angle that i am intending on using to mount the bumper with. I already cut my frame horns off.. Kinda thinking on having the angle bolted to the outside of the chassis. I also want to keep the bumper at stock height, but if i do I'll have to do A LOT of fender trimming.. unless i don't wrap the bumper around.

More progress today, I am changing a few things with my design (lugs and stinger) and I finished pretty much all of the welding/cleaning today, was trying to mount it as well but just didn't have a really good idea of how. Probably going to end up chopping my existing ears, and plate it directly to the frame. I dunno here's how she sits until monday.

How it started today

Trying to mount it, needed more steel :P The driver's side needs to come up about a 1/4''

So it's still not quite done yet, (stinger and I have to shim it so it sits level on the truck) it was late last night. I am thinking i'm going to have to get my stinger mandrel bent, as i was unsuccessful on bending it myself (did not have a bender that was assembled...it was in pieces) AND I kinked my first piece of pipe, cock suckers. Anyways heres how it went about mounting it and what have you, I have to shim it 1/4'' so the outside corners are following the body line and not the crossmember line (where it's attached) It's mounted with 6x4x1/2'' angle that I coped down to 1.5''-2''x 4''.

The steel pile:

Drilling my lugs that was a sharp bit!

Painted and mounted:

I went with tube simply for the fact that I didn't want to grind 90 degree corners into radius edges. Keeps it nicer looking with less grinding marks.

Turned out real nice! I went back to a receiver set up for my bumper. I still have to get some tabs for d-rings.
