Questions A4LD


the newer ones wont work because of computer controls, not sure on what years.

IMO, the work of swaping the extra parts needed for the 5 spd arn't that hard, the biggest thing is the trans, since that has to come out anyways...
 
If you did the manual swap, the transmission crossmember should be the same. I say that based on swapping the 2.3 and manual out of my 90 Ranger and swapping in a 4.0 and A4LD (I rebuilt the A4LD some time ago myself). And they dropped right in with the 4.0 motor mounts instead of the 2.3.

You must use a 4 cylinder only manual transmission, but if you are looking to just replace your A4LD, you should keep it the same year if you can, but you can swap bellhousings between the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder transmissions.

the speed sensor could make fail the OD? over 2000 rmp OD doesnt work and under 1900 rpm it work :S
