Default 1992 Ranger Door Latch Cable

Need a replacement for the cable that runs between the inside door handle and the latch mechanism. Must be for a 92 cause 93 on have shorter cables...

I've got some bad news for you....

They are really hard to find and run about $200. I had mine go and ended up also needing a new latch mechanism along with it. It cost my old man $400 to fix and that was with free labor and the parts discount that comes with his being the service manager at a ford dealership...

I wasn't even going to bother, just got used to rolling down the window and using the outside handle but one day i sent it in for a brake job and my dad brought it back with the door fixed as an xmas gift....

just go to the Jy and covert it over from a cable to rod system probably form a 89-91 ranger most likely you will need the rod, latch and inside handle. thats what i'm gonna do if mine ever fails.

That is what I have done with my driver side door as the cable ended up snapping on me.

I have a little rattle from the rods but I didn't get any dampening material with my rods.

My passenger door still has the cable and I would be changing that until it breaks. (But I have the parts)

there's a thread on here where a guy used a cable from a 92 to 97 F-150. I just picked mine up today for around $20. I'll see how it goes. I'd take pics, but i lost my phone today and I don't have a camera. oh well.

The actual best fix for this problem is grab a set of latch parts from an '89-91 door that uses a push rod that DOES NOT BREAK.AD
what you actually need is the latch itself, the push rod and the inside handle everything else is the same IF my memory hasn't glossed over some critical detail.
