Default Power windows on 88 ?

Hi there guys.. !

I was thinking of installing power windows on my Gen 1, but I don't want to hassle with a "universal" regulator and motor kit. So I saw a Gen 1 explorer the other day and I'm thinking of swaping the dashboard and other things.. and it crossed my mind to use the explorer regulators and motors, I don't care about electrical I can manage that but I'd like to have an oem mechanism.

So long story short.. is it possible to use regulator and motor of a Gen 1 explorer in a 88 Ranger ?

Thanks in advance folks !

The first year of the Explorer was 1991, so a 1st Gen Explorer would be the same as a 2nd Gen Ranger. More than likely, you'll want to look for a Gen 1 Bronco II.

You can actually buy new motors and regulators, with plugs and all, from rockauto for a fairly reasonable price. Beats playing with used parts IMO.
