new CB


I'm not sure, but I'll throw this out there:

My Midland 1001Z (Cheap Midland version of the radio you have) worked with my Cobra power mic... now IIRC the local CB shop owner told me that Cobra mic's only worked on certain other brand radios from certain other years, I'm not sure about other mic's on Cobra's.

You need to define "acting weird"
 
If the connector itself is the same, it should only be a matter of rewiring it.
