yeah, sounds weird but I meant exactly what it says.

From time to time, usually after sitting for a few days without being driven, I'll come out to my '90 Bronco II and find a drip or two of some unidentified thick black goop having come from between the stitching on the steering wheel rim. On one occasion there was enough to actually drip down and land on the wheel center/horn cover.

This happen to anybody else? Not that big a deal really, just afraid I'm going to get it on my hand, not notice it, and ruin my favorite shirt or something. Might get a steering wheel cover if I can find one that doesn't look ridiculous or geriatric.

Yes, happens to my wife's truck all the time!

i just have a pleather ford steering wheel cover. i like it.

although since it's so cold, i wish i had a cloth one sometimes...

ok, so it's probably not some alien life form if it's not just happening to me...

Any idea what it is? Is it rubber or plastic inside that's actually melted over 19 years of summer heat? Some kind of adhesive?

I know, really it doesn't matter but I'm the curious type and it bothers me not knowing.
