What is the difference between the the duritac and lima? I hava a 01 2.3 and i was wondering if i could put it in anything older than an 01 2.3 or if it could go in the 2.5? Thanks
Hey, welcome to TRS!
If they can put a 500 caddy in a chevette, It would be no problem putting a duratec in an older Ranger.
Really though, It would be a complete custom job. Nothing will bolt or plug in.
Well, I fix cars for a living. I work on everything. I've NEVER worked on a Duratec. I would have to say that they are better than average. That might not mean anything though.
Probably the hardest part would be the computer/wiring. Motor mounts might be the same, if not it shouldn't be hard to make something work. The bellhousing bolt pattern for the transmissions are different so you'll need a new tranny, but it's the same tranny so it should just bolt right in.
for the wring, if i was able to figure out which wire went where could i just slice the new to the old? anyone knows do the limas and duractecs mount the same? Thanks
