Mines a 4X4,regular cab,5 speed with a 2in glasspak and a Spectre cone air filter on the stock intake tube,225-70-15 tires and many new parts and tune up. I been getting 22mpg mostly highway and country driving, that was with 10W40 semi synthetic and Restore in the oil. I just put in Castrol Syntec 10W30 and Restore in it and replaced a weak coil and bad coil plug in and just filled up the tank again. It just turned 150,000mi. the other day.

15 Mpg

My 1988 Ex Cab 4X4 gets about 15 MPG. Running 31's with stock 4.10's. Cone air filter. A little timing and aftermarket muffler.

I'm assuming that was a request for comment... Recent tuneup? Fuel filter? What is the timing set at? Run KOEO and KOER tests?

I have not re-geared the speedo yet. It reads about 5 MPH slow on the freeway. I have not tried to pull any codes yet, and that brings a question. I can not find the plug on the harness to plug the ODBI reader into. I could also not find anything to do a test light test on. The timing is set about 2 degrees less than "ping" with regular gas.

Harness should be on the passenger side fender well, if I'm remembering correctly. When you set the timing, did you unplug the SpOut connector? If not, go back and unplug the connector then set base timing to 10-12 degrees BTDC (with the engine warmed up).
