I managed to hit 28.7 on my most recent trip.

As far as stuff that would hurt fuel economy...my shocks are completely shot (no pun intended) so I have my tires aired down to 30psi to at least help the ride.

Oh yea', I also had this in the back.

There's probably somewhere in the ballpark of 300lbs of tools in that box too.

I'm grabbing around 16-17 in my 87, but its a lot of town driving with the front axle locked in.

im getting around 20 in my 89 i do mostly city driving.

94 4.0 5spd ext cab 4x2
I check mileage by writing down the gallons and miles at every fill up and mine consistently gets 21mpg, sometimes 20.5 and others 21.5 so she is pretty consistent. I drive it hard and floor it often and hit the rev limiter a few times every tank. Mileage has remained the same for the last 15 years or so. Mixed country and city driving and towing and empty.

87 B2- 4x4 manual shift 2.9 liter manual, 17mpg
88 B2-2.9liter auto 4x4 auto t-case- 10mpg half a quart of oil per gallon.

Rangers that aren't mine.

1970 F-100 Ranger 2wd reg cab long bed 360 BB auto. my brother swears he gets 17. He doesn't exceed 50mph locally to keep mileage up. hand calculated every tank.

Holy crap. Alright everybody, we can stop posting. Frank just covered every generation and engine/drivetrain setup ever made.

im averaging around 16-17 mostly highway driving. my truck needs to be regeared though, 3.27s are just too low.

3.27's are high gears.

the higher numerical the number, the lower the gear.

Frank

and yes Topher. I love my RBV's.

I am jealous of Frank's massive RBV-age.
