92 v8 swap questions

I have a 92 ranger 4x4 2.9 with a a4ld auto trans. I found a 302 with an aod trans from a 89 crown vic. i was going to switch to a carb. Will the aod trans work with my wirring or will i have to change the computer and harness?

302 with a carb no computer needed.
As long as its an AOD not an EAOD no problems there either.

the A4ld and the AOD use the same plug, just remove the 2 extra wires from the extra plug on the harness for the A4ld and the A4ld will plug into the AOD.

if an AODE or manual tranny its a different story
