Finaly recieve it today,engine looks in very good condition.Probably next week we will start on the swap.

Yes sure i'll keep you guy's updated with pic's and the installing of this engine.The 2jzgte is the twin turbo version of the 2jz motors,so for now it will remain in it's stock form.After when i have everything in the truck and it's nice and running i will start doing upgrades to it.
 
This should be an interesting nightmare. I can't imagine what you are going to do for bulkhead clearance. Side clearance should also be interesting, the turbo side might be alright but the intake side will be an interesting challange due to the position of the starter. I won't even mention intercooler piping.
What are you going to do about the electronics?, I'm guessing megasquirt.
If you can shoehorn it in there it it should make for an interesting ride. the last 2jzgte with megasquirt I saw on the dyno put out over 500rwh.

This was with the 4.0L setup.
 
I'm anxious to see the progress on this. The hole that these motors originate from is quite large, and it's a tight fit at that. can't imagine how tight the fit is going to be here. I notice you have already removed the heater box, don't see that going back. Are you going to run with the auto box or change to something else?
 
Don't let the pic's fool you,the engine looks bigger in the pic's than it realy is.As for trans yes i will run with the auto for now.Also if you compare the auto trans from the 2jzgte to the manual from the truck it's almost the same size,actualy the M/T is a little more wider than the auto trans.Lengt wise there is no problem.
 
SWEET SWAP!! BTW if you haven't already read and your thinking of doing some head work on the 2j you should swap it for the 1j head because it flows better than the 2j because the 1j was designed by yamaha and the 2 was by toyota. Hope this helped keep us posted man!
 
Test fitting the engine yesterday,side clearance is ok,transm is ok,hood is ok.Mod's that has to be make are custom built engine brackets to fit the original ranger mounts and modding the engine cross member a little to clear the oilpan so the engine can sit lower.

Some other mod's has to be done to the front of the truck to able to fit radiator (the stock radiator can't be used) and the intercooler but it can be done
 
What kind of toyota vehicle did that engine come out of? That motor looks perfect for the truck and sounds great. That ranger is going to scream going down the road!! I almost want to hold off putting a v-6 in my ranger and put a v-8 in it but that takes more money to do.
 
OOHHHH MYYY GAAWWWDD!! ur insane, my brother and i just rebuilt his 7mgte single turbo engine and thats fast.. but a 2JZ in a ranger?? :icon_surprised: plan on no traction at all one you hit boost..

for everyone that dosent know this is a toyota supra engine!! a very very very fast one i cant wait to see a video.. please make one!:headbang:
