2002 chevy blazer heat problem

ok as it says in the title its a blazer with the 4.3l engine. the problem is that the heat is not warm its almost cold. it blows nicely but not warm . anyone have any ideas on how to fix this dilema of mine.

sounds like a plugged/partially plugged heater core. The cheap trick to do is take the hoses off and flush the heater core both ways with a garden hose. Usually that takes care of it most the time. How often do you change your antifreeze? Dex-Cool is notorious for causing cooling problems if it has never been changed. The expensive way is to replace the heat core(dash removal= big $$$).

Are you sure the cooling system is full? No heat is sometimes an indicator of low coolant level.

Starting with the easiest to check, does the temp gauge come up like it should?

After that, see if both hoses running into the heater core (under the hood) are hot, after the engine is up to temp. If not, plugged core. If they are, blend door issues, maybe. Not sure how the blend door works on a Blazer, though.

Could be your thermostat or also your operating temperature. Do you run a winter front? If you don't your engine is using all required heat just to keep it self warm which makes a noticeable difference in cabin heat.
