supposedly the evaporator is leaking . . .

If you have to ask, you need a shop.

Most of the effort is recovering and recharging the refrigerant. Which requires a Section 609 licence. If you had one, you would know what you were getting into.

sorry for asking a question beneath you...... I don't work on Rangers every day. I literally wanted to know how involved the evaporator exchange is with a Ranger. I can handle it, I promise . .geesh

The evap box has to come off. All of it. Everything else is (very) standard.

If you know what you're doing, why the "supposedly?" You would KNOW if it were leaking, or not.

because I haven't checked it. I'm asking based on what was told to me about tis truck. If I end up changing the evap I wanted to get an idea what was involved. Whether it was strictly an engine comnpartment job or an under the dash job.
