Does anyone have a source for the rubber inserts in the tailgate hinge? '79 to'86 will work but LMC nor Dorman carry them Discontinued by Ford.

Yep, found them at Dennis Carpenter Restoration, Concord, North Carolina.
 
Go to a junkyard. I think thats your best bet.
