new to the truck world

So i guess the title says it best. For the past 12 years I have been building cars and I am finally bored of it. I am looking to jump into the off roading/ trail riding truck scene. I have been a ford fanboy since I was 15 (rebuilt a 67 mustang before I could drive). still trying to decide which vehicle would be best for a little weekend fun. but thats why I am here, to figure out whats the best platform to start with and where I could take it in the future.
