Alright I gave up my whole 2.3 turbo fantasies and I'm just gunna slap a 302 in there (if only it were that easy).

I'm about to go to the salvage yard tomorrow and grab the computer and wiring from a 96 Explorer.

Now I have the weak little 2.3 in my 96 Ranger and I want to do a good build with a 302 (contemplating 331 stroker build) from said 96 Explorer. Now I'm looking at cams and I saw "On EFI engines, performance camshafts work only with mass air induction systems. Will not work with Explorer EEC-V EFI." on Ford Racing's website. This got me, as I thought the 96 Sploder already had a MAF. So what exactly do I need to grab? I was just going to grab the module on the firewall and very damn thing connected to it. But I started to research a little more and I saw that some people said to grab a module on the passenger side too.

Makes me fuggin hate having an OBD-II vehicle that much more...

You need the ECM in the firewall and the portion of the harness between the ECM and main plug. That is it. You have to pins around to make it work and splice where needed. Check out the engine conversion - V8 section for further details.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Just trying to do my part.
