I have a 2008 Ford Ranger 4.0L XLT Supercab 4x4. I would like to convert the rear drum brakes to disc brakes. I have the standard 8.8" 28 Spline Axle. I have already installed an expensive detroit e-locker on the rear differential.

Does anyone know a way to convert the drums to discs withou having to install a different axle? Preferably without having to jerry rig anything. I know the wheels have a 5''x4.5'' bolt pattern.

I was thinking that if someone knew of a vehicle that has disc brakes on a Ford 8.8" 28 Spline axle I could probably swap straight over.

Thanks.

The new rangers (2010/11) did have rear discs, but unfortunately the axle mounting flange is different than the previous 28 spline 8.8's.

could I change the axle flange out maybe?

I like the idea of the mustange brakes if I can't do anything else because I want to try to keep everything ranger in parts if I can.
