I went through the Ford program they offered at UTI. Got some credentials.

8-5-11 Part-time Tech Starts 8-14

You can probably skip over this post. I am probably leaving in the next month or so.

Edit: Been out of there for a month now.

Have you gotten to mess with them at all?

I don't mind most of what I've done so far, but replacing the turbo and the up-pipes is not fun.

Torque spec is 18 ft-lbs on the manifold to up-pipe bolts. You have gone well past it before you get within an inch of the flange.

I am a certified Jeep technician. Or should I not tell people that? Does that actually hurt my credibility?

Not Ford certified but I am Honda and Yamaha certified for all of their equipment, from motorcycles and Atvs down to generators and lawnmowers. I also have a Dynojet dynamometer certification for motorcycles, Atvs and snowmobiles for performance tuning and diagnostics. Worked in the bike business for 4 years before schooling and I'm about 7 years into my post education wrench spinning.

It certainly helps with the Ranger, but I have to say I have have learned a whole lot about trucks since I started tearing into this Ranger. I wouldn't have learned as much as I have without my previous training, glad I did it.

Knowledge is power!
