Looked around for a post on this and could not find it.... My ac doesnt work what so ever, my gf is allergic to it anyways.. So was planning and ripping it out and putting on a smaller belt.... Once I rip out the AC what do I do with the hoses and everything else???? Whats the procedures on doing this?

What year and engine?

My 87 w/ a 2.9 V6 was very easy. 1st you need to have the pressure removed from the valves by a dealer ship or someone else unless your system was completely empty like mine. You're only difference sounds like you just need a non a/c serp belt. I have a seperate v belt that I just removed.

Then remove the AC accessory belt, unbolt and remove all piping, compressor, condenser (remove grill if you need to) and Dryer assy back by the firewall. Now, I removed everything but the airbox since I didn't feel like messing with it. All piping is out of it but I do still have a triangle box. Whatever, works for me!

Good luck man.

Wait, your g/f is allergic to the system that de-humidifies, cools, and removes allergens from the air it blow out?

Never heard of that one before.

Anyway, the easiest way to do it is to just unplug the compressor and tape the connector out of the way.

If the compressor ain't coming on, it's not putting any noticeable drag on the engine.
