would it be ok to use bed armor or something like as and undercoating to stop rust on a frame.:icon_confused:

no! a lot of people will tell you yes, but that stuff holds in rust and makes it worse! if you wire brush it, prime it and then paint it, that would be better. or you can use por15.

i dont have any experience with "bed armor" but it sounds like paint on bed liner?. . . i had very good results painting my frame with duplicolor bedliner which sounds like a similar product. i had quite alot of scaly rust on my frame especialy the inside of the frame rails, after you remove any scale taht might be there rustoleum makes a product called rust-reformer in a small white platic jug, the stuff looks like polyurethane almost, you paint it on rusty metal and it seals it and turns it slightly black, in my experience this stuff works very very well IF you first remove all scale. After applying (generously) rust reformer and letting it dry i used the paint on bed liner, it looks very nice and seems to be very tough, no evidence of rust continuing... hope this helps

as pillen140 warned^ it will hold rust and moisture and facilitate the problem while only making it look prettier unless you do it right where you remove all loose rust and seal the metal with a primer, the rust reformer stuff is described on the back of the jug as leaving a primer like finish which can be painted on top of. the bedliner is really just for looks and finish, it does add protection but only if you use it as a paint over pre treated metal as i tried to describe. if you just put that on by itself it can create a more favorable environment for the rust, i should have elaborated on this more in my first post, sorry if it sounds like it conflicts but i promise it doesn't
