Well. I finally got the sub for Christmas and built a box the other day. The box sure isn't pretty but it's solid as a rock and is behind my seat. I didn't build it for looks so don't be hatin. I don't have any of it wired yet but the kit is on it's way. I'll be back to fill you in on how it sounds.:headbang:

how big of an amp do you have pushing that? i have had several l5s but no l7s

Well, I'm going to wire the L7 to 2 ohms so the alpine mrp-500 will be giving it 500 watts rms.

I don't have that much room haha. My 8 inch will pound fine enough for me though.

I have some leftover polyfill from making my box. And I as wondering if I could use it to put behind/around my rear speakers. Would the polyfill help them at all? Maybe sorta trick them into thinking there's more room back there than there really is?

Nope. Just 2 and 4 ohms. 300 watts rms at 2 ohms, and 500 watts rms at 4 ohms.

I really need to get this thing hooked up but the company I bought the wiring kit from is taking FOREVER!

i heard a type r alpine on a rockford 1000d and it pounded, ive always prefered the memphis amps over the alpines. why dont you just pick up a wireing kit locally>?

Because all of the local stores around Akron Ohio think they can charge the mrsp of a product... Like $130+ for the Kicker ZCK4 wiring kit. Got it online for $79.99. I'd rather wait than pay an extra fifty. And I've never heard a memphis amp hooked up to anything before. Got the alpine used for $80.

Got this sucker hooked up last night and this is one amazing little sub. It beats for being an 8 inch. If anyone is looking for a quick and powerful little sub in their ranger, this is it. It also has one heck of a low range and adds lots of depth to any music.

i had a l7 12 in my ext cab z71 in a huge ported box, with a diamond d6 1200.1 amp @ 1ohm...man that thing would hit. i was always gettting the "dam i thought u had 4 12's not one" comments lol:headbang:

when i put it on jeezy's "amen" i could move the roof about 2 inches
