I need to replace a fuel pump for one of my Broncos. The ones on ebay show that they don't have the plastic container. Also what I want is one with a black float, not the brass one. Anyone got part #s for airtex. They have so many part #s I don't know what is the difference? :icon_confused:

Can I put a 88 pump in a 90's tank? The reason why I'm asking is because the 88 is cheaper.:icon_thumby:

I forgot the 89-90 is a high volume pump. I got new 90's pump for a 90 ranger. Can I not put the 90 hi volume pump on a 88 Bronco sending unit?

While with skill and luck you can replace the pump inside the cannister.
however there is a strong possibility that taking it apart will damage some of the delicate internal valving in the plastic cannister.

I've taken those cannisters apart many times but even though I have experience
getting them apart, about a third of the time something breaks that turns it all into
junk.

And there is always the fact is the plastic cannister and internal valving is often the reason for the failure of the pump in the first place.

So while you MIGHT save some money....
