bout to mak a decision on this hrd choice but would lik a little help plz.......i hav the chance to buy a 86 ford ranger supercab for 600 its 5 sp and four wheel drive but i can also get both gen bronco 2 with the same opions for about the same price but idk which would be the better one both hav 2.9 in em

get both. go through them both methodically. if both can be properly brought back into service with minimal effort make one a dd and the other the trail rig. if they both need some work, pick the one that needs the least work and the other is your donor.

I'd vouch for whatever truck has the least amount of rust and just overall condition. Does the Ranger need tires? Does the Bronco have any engine issues? Stuff like that.

Gen 2's are easier to swap 4.0's into. I'm biased towards B2's anyways.

You already have a b2 so I would recomend teh pickup. However like said above if you can afford both, fix one up and sell one. But 600 is a good price for either one, I dont think you can go wrong either way.
