My friend and I built this for his girlfriend for christmas, 36 hours and maybe $300 in materials

Pretty cool IMO. She freaked and almost cried.

Sweet! It has that gothic/medieval look to it. Wrapped with what might not be the easiest bow to untie. Just hand her a pair of tin snips...or a plasma cutter.Very nice work!

i must say....id put it in my room.....if i could get it past the wife...

That can handle the fattest of chicks!!!! Nice work. **** those Amish....

Yeah boy, hand cut mortis and tenons take a while that size.
Did you hand hue the wood of band saw it then stress it ?
You doweled it too. Nice work :-) I'm gonna take a stab and say pine 6x'6s cost a pretty penny (unless you cut them your self from timber).
It's a mug to prep for stain and finish though aint it LOL ! To me a few of the most impressive bits are the hardware. How many times did that take
to get the right bend over the king post in the head board ?

Bit of a wood worker my self. Doing fret work on the scroll saw at the moment.
Using the router to cheat where I can though. :)

damn thats one big bed! but looks nice!
good work

Not what I expected. But much cooler.
