so so will a m5od-r1 hd trans out of a 2001 or newer ranger or exploder, bolt up to an 87 B2 with a 2.9 v6... if so do you need a different plate for the trans hump or anything else???

anybody able to help with this one???

Yes it will bolt up. You will need to modify the floor plate.

if i understand correctly that trans has no provisions for mounting a manual t-case shifter too? So it appears i would have to swap in an electronic t-case too... Or could i get really lucky and there be bosses for a manual t-case that just need to be drilled and tapped because i really would rather have a manual t-case if at all possible>>>

The trans must be from a 4.0 equipped Ranger or Explorer ONLY, AND it must be a 4wd trans.

so if i find a 2002 or newer ranger with a 4.0 and 4 wheel drive the trans will have the bosses for a manual transfer case such as a BW1350 or 1354???

This is my plan...
90-91 4.0 from ranger or exploder
m5od-r1 hd trans out of 2002 or newer ranger or exploder
BW1350 or 1354 t-case out of Bronco II or Ranger

so I need to be able to make all three of those components work together... it would be best if it could be done without using any adapters...IE all bolt together components... it's going into an '87 BII

I have no idea if they have shift linkage provisions or not but I'd assume they would since manual shift transfer cases were available.

that sound promising... I'll have to do some more hunting... we'll see what happens...
