Can a C-6 trans be used in the 302 swap? I found a C-6 4x4 trans and transfer case for a small block for $200.00.

We have a 2" body lift on the truck.

yes, it can be used, u may have some clearance issues that old sledgie might have to help u with though

I used the c6 trans with the np205 t case 3" body lift worked great with plenty of room

Hell yeah, they are awesome! I just rebuilt my c5, but I will put in a c6 when I put in my 289. They are badass!

heck ya dude you can do it. Who ever said putting a c6 under a ford ranger is impossible is dumb. I have a 3in body lift and fits perfectly. PLENTY OF ROOM TRUST ME.

I don't see where anybody said it was impossible...:secret:

The C6 is a great trans and will take alot of abuse and along with that it takes more power from your engine. The C4 is a better choise as its smaller to fit easier, rob less power and they are cheap to upgrade to take alot of abuse. If you already have the C6 and everything then go for it. Either way you wont go wrong.

If i was you i would find me a c4 and put in it,you are loosing a lot of power putting a c6 in it trust me.

in a 4x4 application, the c6 is the most cost effective for strength and the kiss principle. unless you want to daily drive long distances and trail ride it. at which point the 4r70 or aod are pretty much the way to go. but cost more to build for 4x4 use. more then 200 bux. the od trans allows 456 gears and 35's....the c6 will want 373 and 35's. the 456 are better off road. decisions decisions. never seen anyone claim the c6 dont fit, the aod really takes up more space and fits nice:dunno: the c4 is tiny. not for heavy ext cab 4x4 applications that see freeway use and trail abuse. best for drag racing 2wd though.

but this is something based purely on the cheap. 200 dollar c6/tcase setup that actually works is worth owning just as trade fodder.
