Loose Gear Shifter

I have a Manual 1993 XLt and the stick is really loose all of a sudden! When i go to put it into first i can feel when its in first and then i can like almost role the stick a little sideways will im in first almost like the play you have in nuetral! Where should i Start????? Thanks Guys:icon_bounceblue:
 
Bolt probably came loose that holds it in place. Had that happen to my F-150, went to put it in first and the shifter swung right around till my fingers smashed into the dash. I just pulled out the screws that held the shifter boot to the floor, pulled that boot and trim up, and got access to the bolt. Tightened the nut some more and it's been fine since.
