I could take the time to look all this up on the net, But I thought I would try here first.

first question is, what was the last year of the ttb front end on the Explorers?

second, what was the last year of the solid rear axle on the Explorers?

third, what year was the first year V8 engine in a Explorers?

forth, what was the last year for the (small) Explorer before they got Bigger(full size)?? or did they get full size??

thank you

Robert.

94 was the last year for TTB. In 2001, Ford split the Explorer into 2 different models: there was the regular Explorer (4 dr) and the 2 dr Explorer Sport. When Ford redesigned the Explorer in 02, (when they got bigger) they went with IRS instead of solid axle. The Sport kept solid axle till it was discontinued in 05. The first year for a V8 was 96.

ttb stands for " twin traction beam " which was the front suspension used on the first gen explorers.

torsion bars started in 95
