what do u think? i want to do an sas and i have everything i need for a leaf setup and all im missing for a coil set up is the coil springs and buckets. i want to do only 4" of lift and was thinking if i did a spring under i could acomplish that. what are the pros and cons of spring under? i know everyone who has spring under(jeeps) wants to do a spring over conversion. would clearance be an issue if i did only 4" or which setup would be better to go with for only 4" lift. i wanna run 33s and largest 35s. i have an 02 ranger and really want to get rid of the stiff as hell ifs.

Thanks

It could be accomplished pretty easily, especially if you used a D44 out of a Jeep Wagoneer which is already set up for spring under. You won't get quite as much suspension travel with a spring under set up although you won't have axle wrap issues which is a plus. I would guess that if you did a SAS using a D44 out of a Jeep Wagoneer with a set of Rancho 44044 leaf springs that it would put you right where you wanted to be as far as lift goes.

If you find that it's too low you could always do a spring over axle conversion to get more lift.

I say go for it!

You might get away with it if you run the Rancho 44044 springs on the Waggy axle, I'm pretty sure it won't work with the stock springs. You will fight clearance issues if kept SUA.
I don't think there are really any benefits with going SOA, except the gained heigth.

I agree with Zainy...
