Dead electric system

1984 Bronco II. 2.8 durasparked 18 months. Stripped HVAC as in there is no blower etc. Son drove home night before last, drove fine, says he left the lights on, next am came out and was dead. Tried to jump-nothing, Charged battery, showed good and nothing.

Nothing mean just that, dead. no lights, horn, no click. Battery shows 13 v, cleaned terminals, connections all the way thru, remote solenoid, volt regulator, alternator, ignition switch... Battery, alternator and volt regulator are all 8 months old. Solenoid is 2 years old. Wiring looks good, no melts etc ... Grounds are tight. No fuses popped. Couldn't find any fusible links.

Ideas? I'm stumped. less than shadetree guy, know I should get a volt meter and start checking circuits but never did figure them things out.

On my 87 BII 2.9L, there are several fusable links at the starter relay. Fusable link "L"
(18 ga red)goes to electronic engine control, Fusable link "P" (18 ga red) goes to power door locks,Fusable link "R" (20 ga blue) goes to electronic engine control,
and fusable link "C" (16 ga orange) goes
1. thru fuse link "D" fuse panel,
2. thru fuse link "E" to ignition switch
3. to altenator

I had the same type issue you described, several moths ago. it turned out to be the fusable link "C".
I relize your 84 is a different system, but I hoped that this info may be helpful. I would look for a bad fusable link in light of all you said you've done already.

All you need is a 12v test light to troubleshoot for breaks in wires. My 83 has a orange fuse link right off the connector of the start solenoid and routes along the radiator support to the drivers side. Everything runs off that wire. Make sure you have it on the battery side of the solenoid and trace it up to the fuse block and ignition switch. Get a test light with a sharp point and you can test for power alog the way just use a good ground. Oh by the way take all the grounds apart and sand them metal to metal then get them good and tite. The same with batt terminals lightly sand them and get the clamps tite. Grounds are batt to chassis, bat to engine, engine to chassis and any others you find.
