i need a new exhaust system for my b2, the po cut off the cat and put in one of those cheap flex pipe deals, and i had to cut off some of my tailpipe due to rust...wanting to redo the whole thing because it leaks. i was wondering what setups everyone has and how they like it...pics of the tailpipes would help(duals, single, turndowns, etc.) im wanting some duals but not really sure

I can get some pics when I'm not on my phone, but I have a catback exhaust set up. No cat for now, no muffler, then a y to two slash chrome tips straight out the rear. I have a muffler Im gonna get on it. And a cat is coming Monday.

I love the 4.0 with no muffler. And the slash tips look great. It's probably a lil louder then most ppl want and some of y'all can't get away with it.

Honestly, true duals ain't needed on a v6 IMO. And it sounds better mixing both sides to one pipe before the tips. Once again, that's my opinion

I bought the dual outlet "direct bolt in" setup out of LMC's catalog. Then I modified it. I left off the ridiculously huge muffler tips (like 2.5 feet long and 20 lbs a piece) and ran it like that for a year or so. Sounded good, really liked it. Didn't look too bad either except that I was never able to get the pipes level.

Then I hacked out a chunk to put in a Thrush glass pack so I'd be legal for inspection this year because it was looking like my "friend" wouldn't be able to inspect it this year, and he ended up being able to. So now it's "legal" (I'm not using all the factory hangers like I'm supposed to) but because the muffler didn't fit the way I excepted it looks like ass. Still doesn't sound bad though.

My 90 Ranger is still setup like factory, it'll probably get changed to a side dump in front of the rear tire when I do an engine swap. It'll be similar to how the 97 F150s came from the factory, before the recall.

My 99 Explorer has a simple turn down in front of the rear axle (behind the rear passenger door). It's about as simple cat back exhaust as you can get. I bought a Magnaflow dual in, single out muffler and a piece of 3" pipe to get back to where I wanted to dump and bought a 3" turn down. I cut off the original hanger from the factory exhaust and welded it onto the new exhaust.

Right in front of the rear tire. I like that setup. Best way for a trail rig, no rub issues when flexed

Bingo. Only possible with a BL on a B2 I think though. Ranger may have enough room without it.

Thats probably how ill do mine once my body lift is on... Right now I have a stock y-pipe to a magnaflow cat, to a thrush welded, then 2.5" out the back, but I flexed out and flattened my pipe a little, so the exit isnt as high as I would like it to be. Either way, I dont think the cat is shorting me power and it sounds great... nothing wrong with being a little green I guess...
