I replaced my hanger bearing a month or so ago....I had to drive about 40 miles home with no hanger bearing. Since it has been placed driveshaft make an awful grinding squeeking noice....Is it possible I bent the drive shaft. I did mark it before I took it out so i made sure it went back in correctly. Or is it something as simple as changing the U-Joint....Yeah I know I should changed them the same as the hanger bearing but did not ....I was not sure how to change the u-joints (still don't know) If some could help that would be great. I think if I can change the hanger bearing the U-joints should not be that much harder.

Bob123, Welcome to TRS
A dried out U-Joint will make the same sound just before it breaks. Time to replace em.

The best way to replace the u-joints is with a hydraulic press - but it can be done in a vise with an old socket (approx same size as bearing cap) and a BIG hammer - i would not recommend this method with an aluminum driveshaft - Be sure to remove the spring locks first !
