Hello All,

My son has a factory made '92 Ford Ranger convertible. Recently, the top cracked (plexiglas) and is no longer useable. Can anyone tell me where I can find a replacement?

Thanks!

....

Factory built?

I don't believe it.

Was going to say the exact same thing.

Definitely need pics. More than likely its a conversion done after it left the factory but before it was sold. Ford used Centaurion a lot. They stretched FS bronco's into 4 doors.

Those things were awesome! First gen removable top Expeditions. :headbang:

Sorry. My ex bought it new in '92 and gave it to our son last year. I know very little about it but will ask for more info if necessary.

Thanks country0001. He's coming over tomorrow if it doesn't rain :-) I'll grab some shots and post them asap.

Conversion before sold? Who knows... but I'll see what I can find out.

Ya I'd like to see this

No such thing as a factory convertable Ranger....never has been one...to dangerous. I aske my Brother-in-law who has work for Ford for over 30 years and he said.....NO WAY!!!!! Some cutom builder at a dealer might have done it. I remember a Chevy truck that was done this way at my old Chevy dealership in Tampa back in the 70's. The new owner got airborn and killed his wife and son and himself. Big lawsuit waiting to happen....

If she bought it then she should have all the info on it....NEVER HAPPENED by Ford, Bro!!!!!

I have heard of such a beast, I think at one point ZMan was thinking about putting one on his. I think he even had the top.

Dodge did it to the dakota's in the 90's, but i've never seen one on a Ford.

I rememeber zman talking about it. It was big in the 90's when minitrucks were popular and were all lowered. I remember seeing a lot of them runnin around. But none of them were Factory except the dodge's.

The last convertible truck Chevy built was the 73 FS Blazer. Very hard to find.

then again Ford built convertible Bronco's til 77.

It can't be the same top as Zman's, his is a 3rd gen. And if its the same brand I don't think they are still around.

If its a fiberglass top just go to any reputable body shop and have it fixed.

If its the one I'm thinking about that replaces the back glass and the roof you are screwed. That thing hasn't been made since the '90's
