Hopefully someone can help me out... I keep getting all kinds of answers on this question from all kinds of seemingly quite knowledgable people. So I'm a little confused. I have an 07' Ranger XLT 4x4. It is one day destined to be a great ORV... problem is I have little ground clearance. Does anyone know if Superlifts' kit for the 05' Ranger would work on my 07'? Some say yes, some say no...

I love this truck off road though that's for sure. I've already got a 3" body lift on it, 31" TSL tires, K&N FIPK II air intake, throttle body spacer, Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, and a Superchip programmer. It excels in mud, not so great in snow deeper than 6", and I have yet to find a hill that is too steep for it to climb. But, due to my ground clearance I am quite limited when it comes to climbing over rocks.

Also, this may be an ignorant question... but will a suspension lift give my suspension more articulation when crossing uneven terrain? I'm assuming because it's top-heavy it feels like it wants to roll over any time I try to cross something with more than a 25% angle....

thanks

There is an active discussion in GD about Superlift (& others) not bothering to update their applications listings.

As for the articulation, the improvement will be minimal with a lift kit. The problem is in the design of the SLA IFS, the short control arms & CV shafts won't allow for much more total movement than it has stock. Disconnecting the swaybar will considerably free it up however.

To get significantly more articulation, you'd probably want to swap a solid axle under there instead. You'll gain a lot of strength that way as well. Of course you'll really have to decide how much you need it before you start cutting up a truck as new as yours though (it could very well be up to interpretation by the dealer if the warranty remains valid on the rest of the truck after a modification as extensive as a SAS, they'd have plenty of opportunities to try to deny you if, say, an engine or transmission issue should arise).
