So, I've been slowly working on a cab swap. My 90 cab was too rusted to be safe, and all I could get for what I was willing to pay, was a 88 cab. First off, PIA. I need to post about fitting the dash and steering column, and will later in the interior forum.

Anyway, as everyone knows, the 89 and up have the flushmoutn lights. So the rad supports are different. I ought to just swap the rad supports and be done, but not willing to spend the money. LMC Truck has new supports for $100, plus $100 truck shipping. I almost bought a used section from a JY, for $125. I started to cut the relevant pieces out of both supports and graft everything over, but thats not working so well. Or, I'm not patient enough!

So, I was wondering if anyone had pics of pre-runner style Rangers and how they mount headlights and grills? I'll figure this out sometime, but really need to get this done soon, one way or the other.

Sure, I could have kept the older style headlights. But I didn't get the grill or fenders with the cab. And I already have fiberglass fenders for the 89-92 body style on the truck.

Thanks.

the ones I think you are asking about is the one piece front clip that convert the front to f150 width and that cost about $600 used, so I don't thing you want that. what you might due is go and buy a covert prerunner front that goes from 2nd gen to the edge body but that about 4-6 hundred again.

One piece and conversion sets are downright expensive parts. Once I get the fenders and hood back on the truck, I'll be able to better figure out what I want to do. I was just out in the garage (I really need a heater out there) looking at what it will take. The trim panel that goes along the bottom edge of the lights and grill will be a good starting point. And since the headlight buckets and grill sort of interlock, I think a couple strips of sheetmetal and some angle brackets will suffice.
