Hey, I was off roadin yesterday and I broke part of the front right suspension set up. The problem is I don't know exactly what this piece is called. I took a picture of it, hopefully someone here will be able to help me out.

Thanks a lot, I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a link to one that is for sale, on a website such as partstrain.com or some website like that.

Wouldn't that be the tie rod knuckle, and be a part of the spindle?

I went to a few salvage yards nearby earlier today and I had no luck finding any parts for my ranger. So ordering it online may be the way to go, so if anyone can post up a link I would greatly appreciate it; I can't seem to find that part online.

they have separate parts-the piece that the ball joints and tie rod go to is the knuckle.the other parts are unit bearing/hub and axle/stub axle etc

hey thought i might mention that there are probably online junkyards around you can get the knuckle from if you dont mind freight cost. also try calling junkyards in your area for availability.

Well I called all the junkyards in the area and they didn't have any. I ended up bringing it to my mechanic to see if he would have better luck finding one. He couldn't find one either so it ended up going through the dealer. The dealer had them obviously, but like most dealers it was way to expensive, $580 parts and $60 labor at my mechanics (installation and an alignment). $580 dollars for a freaking knuckle and some tie rods. I would have looked more, but I had to get it fixed quickly because it is also my daily driver. Thanks for all the help though I really appreciate it.

they must have crappy salvage yards there in ca.damn.if you ever get that way again, call your insurance agent.the insurance co's use salvage parts and have lot of connections for the collision repair industry too.if the agent acts dumb, see if he can connect you with some one higher up in the company like the one's who settle and close claims.dont let them BS you, these people have the connections to crap yards, and yards for new vehicles as well.you could have saved 400 bux or so if you can find the people who have the connections.if you were in the denver area i could have had 5 of them for you.

I will have to try that next time. I was surprised when none of the salvage yards had those parts, I would think that there would be tons of broken Rangers in SoCal. Next time I should call the salvage yards near Ocotillo Wells lol, I bet there are tons of parts there.
