Rebuilding Tranny and T-case

Im looking at rebuilding the tranny and t-case in my 91' 4x4 ranger and was just wondering how hard is it? Should I just have a pro do it or is it something an average person can handle?

Manual, auto/electronic?

Generally for transmissions, if someone asks if they can handle it or if they should have a pro do it, I tell them to leave it to the pros. A t-case isn't quite as tricky or sensitive as the trans, but odds are that you don't have all of the tools to do either. Unless of course you know a guy who just left all his tools to you. Then you might.
