noisy clutch

When I'm pulling away from dead stop in 1st gear and releasing the clutch, I'm hearing a loud squealing noise.

Only happens in 1st gear (especially in a drive-through)
Only when releasing the clutch.
Sounds like its coming from the rear
Seems to be worse first thing in the morning after being parked all night.

What going on?
 
My truck did something similar for quite a while before my output shaft bearing in the trans went bad. Then not too long after that noise started all gears but fourth started howling and it would randomly pop out of third or get stuck in 4th. AKA I was beating the living hell out of my truck at that point in time. Can you get video of the noise? Have you been a little more "abusive" than normal on the truck lately? Like doing burnouts or trying to chirp the tires into 2nd/3rd gear? Missing shifts, stalling the truck... anything?

I think mines making that sound. I am pretty sure it happened when my friend roasted the clutch and after that if I let it out just right the clutch makes a horrible sound. Almost like its glazed.
 
I think I had this exact problem with my 87 Ranger TK5 transmission. I had the noise since shortly after I changed the clutch and did several burnouts chirping 3rd gear. About 5 years later I sold the truck. The noise seemed worse when it was cold.
 
Put a new clutch in it and replace the bearings (pilot and thrust) and have the flywheel resurfaced and it should go away. I used to be able to make my truck make the squeal noise with the parking brake set and the truck not moving by slowly letting the clutch out. So it was definitely the clutch.

It also seemed louder in my truck when it was cold out, and seemed to go away as summer approached.

What are you calling the "thrust bearing"? The thrust bearing is the one in the engine that takes the brunt of the beating when the engine is running.
 
It was the slave cylinder. Replaced it and the clutch plate, good as new.
