I just bought an '01 Ranger. It has the 6 disc changer. Do these stereos have any kind of line-in/aux-in on the back? I need to hook up my satellite radio and I don't like using the FM transmitter.

Both PAC-Audio and Peripheral interfaces are not compatible with factory radios with built-in 6-disc CD changers. I believe that we will run into the same problem with American International and Soundgate products.
Sorry but I think your stuck. FM modulator is better that an FM transmitter.

Crap. I could probably live with a modulator, but I'd rather have a direct line-in. I definitely don't want to use the transmitter.

It seems like someone could make a product that splices into the disc changer wires. Or make some sort of splitter to plug the changer AND an auxillary wire into. I know it could be done, if someone would just do it. The only problem would be getting it to switch between the aux and disc signals, but surely some engineer-type could figure that out.

they do make several products that do what you are asking for. they are all after market brands like pioneer, jvc, and others. sorry man but that is about the only other option at this point.
I have a new JVC head unit that is H.D. and is sat. ready, no external hook ups, just need a subscription and I would be good to go.
