My credo
Confused and Intolerant
Jason and I wanted to give his focus some clearance, any ideas?

2 strict rules though, and 1 is just temporary.

#1 Low Budget
#2 Tires need balanced FIRST (its bad enough that the car is shaking enough to relax your back, lol)

Maybe a 2" or 3" lift, suspension mod prefered, as a bodylift doesnt do much for clearance =p.

But if you can think of a bodylift and good tiresize to give it a little more clearance, then go ahead.

(note: this is a 4-cylinder, 4-door Focus, it has (I think) a 2.0L in it, but it has torque with how light it is right now).

my company car is an 02 focus station wagon. i wanna hear what people have to say, and pics afterward:yahoo:

I was thinking blocks, but I still have no idea where I'd mount them, never been through anything but trucks really

You can't body lift a unibody.

Look into Subaru lift kits and see what they use to gain lift.

Blocks? Where were you planning on putting them?

If I'm not mistaken, the Focus has mcpherson struts up front and coils in the rear. Getting more height isn't all that hard...but fixing camber? Good luck.

Good luck. I have a buddy that tried to lift his. I think he said all he could find was like 1 or 2" lifts. He abandoned the idea. I'll see if he can get me a company or link.

well, thats all we really need =p I was thinking of longer springs and struts

J.C. Whitney should have some coil spring spacers and/or inserts. That won't be enough to need longer shocks and struts.

The rear shouldn't be a problem. You might have enough play to throw in longer springs, or you could get another set of stock isolators and put them on the bottom of the spring like the top has. If that doesn't work, you could have some drop plates for the control arms fabbed up.

As for the front. A longer strut might work, but you would need a spring to put on it too. You may be able to have some spacers made up to sit on top in between the strut perch and the body. Be careful and make sure the axles have plenty of clearance and aren't angled too much.
