Will next week end I plan on firing up my project for the first time!:yahoo:! I have read several articles on line about how to do it (other than turning the key). Do folks here recommend pre priming the oil lines and system by removing the dizzy and hooking up a drill to the oil pump (one article recommended turning the Engine 1/4 turn and prime betwwen each 1/4 turn for two full turns)? One article suggested plain water so if you have a leak into oil less damage will be done than with antifreeze. What about "break in" oil like royal purple break in? Monster miata had a pretty simple idea, fill fluids (30 weight motor oil, change twice once after brief run and once after a few miles), turn on check for leaks, drive! Just trying to get some thoughts.:icon_thumby: I really enjoy the support I find on this forum. Thanks much:icon_cheers:

I like the 1/4 turn prime repeat method worked good for me. First start i ran it at 2500 rpm for 20 minutes just to help seat the rings changed oil and filter put 10 miles on it changed oil agian and agian at 100 miles. I used water during breakin because of the reason yot stated. Good luck

I primed with drill to full pressure for 30 seconds, installed dizzy "as you call it", set timing, used key to spin her up for 10 seconds without coil lead attached, plug in coil, fire it up, I ran about 15 minutes at 2000 rpm, change oil and filter
