Headers, Motor Mounts, and Oil Filter Relocation kit from Jegs


Scavenge mounts and a pan from a V8 explorer ( maybe $50.00 from the J-yard ), and then buy some shorty headers ( Hedmans are $180 I think at summit? ) While your at the JYD buy a 4.0L HD aluminum rad. and the fans off a VW 4cly. Transdap relocation kit is $52 from summit.
Possibly $300 bucks or less and you can put together your own kit with rad, pan and fans or you can buy new and save your self the scavenging for $360 plus tax and shipping.
Still have to buy a fan, rad and dual sump pan though...... Over all good deal on new parts though.

Look around TRS and you will see that those headers do not work.
 
I run the Hedman 89500 headers on my swap and the work just fine(have since 2000 anyways). They are a tight fit on the passenger side(make sure the engine is straight). Mine is a 84 though.

That's odd they wouldn't work. Jegs doesn't specify years they will work on. I see people asking about what motor mounts work and what headers work all the time. I figured this kit had all the guess work taken out for you. I'm actually not doing a swap, I just saw it and thought it looked like a decent deal so I posted it. Sorry if it's bad info.
 
On the oil filter relocation kit, you also need part number 1413 along with the 1113, the 1413 has the outlets on the sides instead of the top, which interferes with the gearbox, and there is not enough room to put a 90* fitting on the top style either, I have tried both...

Agree with all of that.

For 1997-older ibeam trucks, most cost effective it try-y headers, oil filter relocation with 90degree fitting for engine block, and Mustang motor mounts.
 
Also, the explorer oil pan will not fit TTB rangers, you will need to source a dual sump pan and pickup tube...

Do a search on these headers here and over on the RPS site and you'll see what kind of problems we've all had with the 89500's. The 88400's are a better fit.
 
Works great on my 86 ranger 2wd heard of problems with the 4x4
 
got the 89500's in a craigslist deal didnt research them till after then i got worried. they bolted up but not pleasantly, But hey they do the job after a modification. like always, im on budget so used stock 4.0 rubber and built block mounts the oil filter relocator was cheap like 17 bucks at summit for the block side dont recall the filter side price i did hit money for lines tho local diesel shop builds hydrolic lines the psi is like 3500 range which i dont need but they were steel reinforced heat/flame safe screw in and go and oil will never break down the rubbr. prob could of did a kit a few bucks cheaper but was too late to turn back
