squeaky clutch?

when starting out from a stop my clutch squeaks as i let it slip to get going, (truck in sig, the truck has 118K on but i have only had it for about the last 6 months so idk if it has been replaced) i had a 98 4 cyl 2wd before this one and it did the same thing. any ideas what it might be? does it need to be replaced?
