Hey guys,

I want to give my truck a better look, lift it about 2 or three inches with 30 or 31" all terrains. My brother gave me his old wheels that came stock on his older ranger. I think they were the optional alloys, so they would look descent, rather then the stock wheels I have now with the plastic overlay to make it look like a chrome wheel.

I was wondering what a decent, cheap lift would cost. I have an 02 ranger, 3.0 with 2WD, automatic with about 39K miles on it. I want a lift thats durrable, yet cheap. I dont do much offroading, just something that would give my truck a better look. My truck is just for transportation, and when somebody needs a truck I've got one they can use. Its not often I go offroading. I've only got 2WD so back canyon trails are all I can do, no rock climbing or mudding. I dont need it (i want it) to be a pre-runner (yet), just something to level it out and raise both ends about two or three inches. I wouldnt really want to spend much over $500. Just something cheap, but will last quite a while. If I have to get new shocks, thats thats fine too. I'm probably pretty close to having to get new shocks anyways.

02 Ranger, supercab, 3.0 automatic 2WD, 39,000 miles, all stock.

sounds to me like you need a body lift. they are the cheapest and after putting it on you don't have to worry about maintaining it.

or you could get some lift blocks for the rear out of a 4wd ranger or an Edge ranger. that would bring the rear of your truck to the 4wd ranger height.

when you get bigger tires you will lose some MPG so keep that in mind. good luck!

Factory blocks and u bolts in the back, 2" leveling springs or crank up the torsion bars a bit(Don't know if you have coils or t-bars on that model). Less than $300. Shocks should be long enough, you shouldn't have to change em.

I have a 3'' spindle lift on my 01 2wd and I like the way it sits and rides. the spindle cost me like 450 from 4wheelparts. the best part of the spindle lift is you can do the lift by yourself by just removing the old spindle and replacing it, unlike a bl where you have to fight with rusty(usually) body mount bolts then you have to get at least 2 more guys to come over and help lift the the body while you lay under the truck to place the lift. the downside of spindle lift is that it usually cost more and you have to get a alighment after.

Good luck with your choice.

+1 on the spindle lift.
