SBC ranger motor mounts?

Ok so I'm looking to put a V8 in my 92 2wd. I do have 302's and a C4 but both will need a complete rebuild. I have a fresh 355 in my shed and can get a TH350 or 700R4 for cheap which are rebuilt. Now the only thing i need help on is motor mounts is there somewhere i can buy these or will i need to make these. Also anyone that has done this conversion could help me out id appreciate it.
 
:badidea: Rebuild the 302/c4 and keep it ford!:thefinger: I don't know of any bolt in mounts but they may be out there, there are kits to put a freakin small block chebby in just about anything.:temper:
 
Its your truck put what you want in it. There are others on here that have put chevys in theirs ,do your research.
 
There are a number of sbc builds on this site, dig around a little.
 
62 chevy impala mounts with the 5.3 and some 1/4 c-channel worked well for me.

but the universal mounts from jegs work well too.

Its Shitrolet not Shitorlet. I had a sticker made 16 years ago for my 66 El Camino that was a bowtie with the Shotrolet inside of it and boy oh boy did I catch alot of shit for that. It was all worth it though. :headbang:
 
Build the BASTARD!

Moroso solid motor mounts & towers or as I did, motorplate it!

As said above and as I did, build it YOUR WAY! The loyal Ford guys will never get past the fact that their pony can be whooped by a mouse for a third the cost!:icon_confused:............
 
Any Chevy guy who does not use an LS motor needs his head examined!
 
So maybe trading the 66 c-10 i had with a 350 and stock TH400 for my ranger was a bad idea but having to drive farther to get to work i needed something easier on gas than my 78 Scottsdale which helped my decision. May just buy a cheap cruddyyyy lookin camaro for my 355 a home or get that 77 ford 3/4 ton 2wd off my grandpa and hop up the 460 beast between the frame rails...Also what towers and mounts from moroso would be the ones i need and does anyone have a design to follow on makin the mounts thanks guys or all your help

i'm not really a fan of engine plates, it seriously affects front accessory mounting (but you had a unique way of doing that too right :icon_confused:) and it is just akward in any full-bodied car

I don't see where I mounted my motor plate to the engine would affect any of the accessories.............it doesn't go behind the water pump which if it did would through your pulleys & such off.

As far as "unique", kinda, I had a 2 piece one and bought some 1/4" aluminum, traced them, and made it 1 piece..........did the same thing to my BB.

actually i think you have it backwards if it did not go behind the water pump, but did go behind the other accessories wouldn't that throw off the pullies? :icon_confused: and what about your transmission input shaft, you are adding an extra distance when you sandwich the mount between the engine block and the bellhousing.

the only thing i ever put engine plates on was this. (see no accessories)
and i used a torque converter that was designed for the extra distance needed to have a proper fit when using an engine plate

using a 2-piece isn't unique its usually the only viable way to do it on the front (see mine was 2 piece) what i meant by "unique" was didn't you rig the ford parts to run off of the chev motor? and to make it work didn't you have to use v-belts?. and the thickness of most plate setups is usually 3/16" to 1/4" which is less than most off-set increments that are available for factory pulley setups so buying different pullies to make it work is a little tougher too

doing all of that is exactly what i meant by "affecting" the from accessory drive
