I just picked up a 2002 B2300 that only came with one key and remote. I need to get another key, but the stealership told me that the blank will be $24 plus $13 to cut it, then told me that it will be over $100 to program it. Any advice?

I just got a key and new fob on Monday for a total of $118 from my local Ford dealer.

$55 for the fob
$63 for the key and programing

The keys

1st Original-on then off
within 5 seconds
2nd Orginal-on then off
withint 10 seconds
Insert BLANK, turn on for 1 second
Turn off, the light should be on for 3 seconds then off.

The remote

cycle the ignition back and forth either 5 or 8 times.
with the truck locks in unlock the locks should cycle
then you can program each remote hitting the lock button
once done simply turn truck back off and see if they work.

The remote I am not too worried about, the main thing is the transponder key, but since I only have one original......

A reputable locksmith is usually cheaper, and a correctly equipped locksmith should be able to program the keys.

If you only have 1 key it's a trip to the dealership for you to get them programmed using their IDS.

Went to a locksmith, $70 for the key, cut and programmed, took 15 minutes. Now I just need to get a remote.
