I want to swap from power to manual steering on my 1985 351W 2wd Ranger. I'm now running the acc'y drive from my donor car, a 1978 LTD2. The pump is huge!! It's a twin V-belt...one belt drives the alt while the other runs the PS and water pump. I need one belt to drive the alt and water pump but the current pulley set up won't let this happen.
I want to do the conversion to clean up the engine bay, drop some weight and get back a few strangled ponies!
Is there a good donor acc'y drive that will work on the 351W? Or can you recommend a good aftermarket system that will only run the water pump and alt from the crank?
I'm also looking for the manual box if anyone has one to sell.

I used a serp drive from a 90 Bronco. I made a bracket with an idler pulley and I use an XS2E 8620 EB Motorcraft belt. You will also have to swap your water pump for a reverse rotation model if you go to a serpentine setup. Most of the 302 serp drives use a reverse rotation water pump. You may also want to check out Zoops and March for complete setups. Initially, I looksed at them, but $$$ wouldn't permit. I figured that since all I had to run was a water pump and an alternator that I could modify something to work.

The early 70's 351W's and Cleveland's waterpump and crank pulleys are what you want (same for both) If you can't find these, I have two sets of extras available--cheap.

Check out www.car-part.com for a steering box. Have it sort by distance to check the salvage yards near you.
